Repulsive Central Macedonia, Demonization of amphibian landscapes

The artistic research project focuses on analyzing so-called “waterfronts,” or coastal and river areas that connect land and water, exploring the landscape changes associated with their transformation. This study is a continuation of research conducted in 2024 in Venice, which examined the lagoon landscape of the industrial zone and its evolution. Specifically, it investigates how this area, once an amphibious landscape, has transformed into a “modern” landscape, marked by human interventions that alter the relationship between nature and urbanization. The project explores the tension between the natural past and contemporary dynamics, aiming to reflect on the implications of such changes on the territory and the historical memory of the landscape.
